Originally the South Island branch for North Island tannery Tasman Tanning, the story of ‘The Leather and Associated Products Co.’ (LAPCO) begins in 1991 in Christchurch. LAPCO has been New Zealand owned and operated for the last 33 years and since 2008, has had an extensive showroom and warehouse in Auckland.

Kerian and Stuart Savill have been in the leather trade for over 36 years, acquiring LAPCO, in 2008.

In sourcing the finest quality leather, LAPCO has served New Zealand designers and manufacturers for all this time, responding to a demand for both trusted quality leathers, and the expertise needed to select the right leather for the job.

Expanding the range of leathers to include world class vegetable-tanned saddlery and craft leather, continuity of supply for Kiwi artisans, saddlers and craftspeople was ensured.

Partnering with Tasman Tanning to champion New Zealand made, quality chrome-tanned upholstery leather, and representing leading international tanneries, LAPCO provides the largest selection of upholstery leathers nationwide.

With the addition of natural cowhide and sheepskin rugs and fleeces, you can find LAPCO products in the country’s best hospitality and commercial fit outs – including luxury lodges, hotels, restaurants, super yachts, as well as in private residences throughout the country.
