Russett is a vegetable tanned leather that is widely used for saddles, tack and belts. Rawhide Leather is typically processed without tanning. It has many uses, including on drumheads, but also for leather furniture, historically accurate leather pieces, plus it’s a great tough leather for arts & crafts. Rawhide is naturally a stiff and rigid leather that is softened by soaking in water.
